I have no idea how this has been set up but the line that is underneath 'Prerequisits' runs the whole length of the page and I would like to shorten it to the length of the title. Can anyone help please?

It looks like a Paragraph Rule is applied to the heading (either manually or in a paragraph style).

Change the Width setting to Text instead of Column:
