Reflowing Epub text and images question

I need to do a reflowing EPub from an .indd. I was originally supposed to do a fixed layout which I did and it looks great but client wants a reflowble. So I was going to use the articles panel to grab text and insert the images inline in-between the paragraphs but then I noticed as I did a draft that because all the text paragraphs are  linked grabbing and dragging the first paragraph grabs the entire text of the entire book so I need to break up the text, whats the easiest way to do this as I already saved the .indd as a separate file so I have the signal to go back to in case of making mistakes.

Any help?

Not entirely sure what your issue is, but are you stating your images are not linked correctly to the text? You do know they have to be anchored.

No sorry I meant to write the indd has threaded text throughout the book , if I grab a paragraph and drag to the articles panel it grabs the entire text from the whole book follow? I need to break up the text so I can place images in between the paragraphs. I can export to reflowable pub and then do this is Sigil but I know there is a way in InDesign

You can create this without using the articles panel, just anchor the images to the headings or paragraphs where they are to appear.
