Select the text alone from the selection

Hi,

     I need to select the text alone (ie., 1000 without tags (see story editor)) from my selected text.  How can I select that? My selection is characters find result selection.

     Need to add the tag with the selected text in the correct position. But the selection have closing tag </Itemizedlist> so the that is added wrongly based on the closing tag.

I think, we already had that case in the forums.
Search for FEFF in the scripting forum history.

One hint:

Doing a GREP Find should ignore the tags:

\d{4}
