Setting evenly-spaced tabs

Hi all! I find myself spending a lot of time using a calcualter to evenly space tabs. I'm sure there is a better way to do this. I know I can use the tab fly-out menu to choose "Repeat tab" but that doesn't work for me because I need the first tab to be longer than the rest. For example, I have 8 columns of data across a page. The tab on the far left is for the name (longer) and the other 7 columns are for numbers. I need them to all be in the same text box. Is there an easier way to set the 7 columns to the right of the first one so they are all evenly spaced?

I'm on an iMac using InDesign 15.0.1.

Thanks!

Add the first tab after you've set the others ones evenly spaced.

So I tried adding a first tab after setting the others to be evenly spaced. But I can't figure out how to shift all those evenly-spaced tabs to the right now. I can only move one at a time... which takes me back to having to do math. LOL

Instead of tabs, could you use a table without strokes?
