hi - is there a way to turn off the default checked box for "Shared Hyperlink Destination" when adding a hyperlink to copy in a document. having to uncheck this box everytime adding a link is getting tiresome.
thanks jason

There is (according to Mike Rankin of Creative Pro network) no way to change the default for turning off the default for "Shared Hyperlink Destination" to be on.
Keith Gilbert has a script called Remove Shared Destinations here:

thanks Steve - i reveiwed the script and it is cumbersome as well to avoid having the checkbox selected by default. how do we create a ticket/request for Indesign to fix this bug in future releases?
i would think the last state of the checkbox should be default in the New Hyperlink box. ie: turn off once, it stays off and vice versa.
thanks jason

You need to go to the InDesign User Voice. If you search you'll see that this request has been made numerous times. This is the one you want. VOTE FOR THIS. It's being considered:

I appreciate Keith Gilbert's "Remove Shared Destinations" script, but have discovered a glitch: When I use it and then use Wordsflow to export a story for edits, all of the various now "unshared" hyperlinks have had their destinations changed to just one of the former URL destinations in the output .docx Wordsflow file. When edits are made in the text file and I update the Wordsflow link in the InDesign file, now everything leads to that same single URL destination!
