Tab button doesn't work in exported pdf

New Here ,

Hello,

I have a problem with pdf after exporting from indesign. I have one "h1" title and two "h2" titles and two tables. Everything is described in "Articles" and ordered in "Structure".

After exporting to interactive pdf (I have "structure for tab" option on), but tab button in pdf still doesn't work.

Please, tell me what I'm doing wrong. I need to prepare pdf accesible for blind people and they need to pass cells in tables by "tab" button.

I'm not sure I entirely understand what you are referring to.

However, for accessibility purposes:

  • I believe the 'tab'-order is only relevant for interactive elements in a PDF, e.g. jumping from form field to form field.
  • However you need to ensure the Structure and Reading Order of the document is correct (e.g. Tags/Order panes in Acrobat), and naturally all the other things relevant for accessibility. Such as correctly defining headers.
  • Keep in mind you can't make a PDF 100% accessible from InDesign, you'll need to do some additional work in Acrobat as well.

Hi sebastiank,

I would like to know if the steps suggested by Cari worked for you, or the issue still persists.

Kindly update the discussion if you need further assistance with it.
