Text box changes sizes when pasted - LOCKED

I'm am creating a series of posters in various different sizes. I just chose a text box and pasted it to a document of the same size. The pasted box has overflow text where the original doesn't. Does anyone know why this maybe? I am using InDesign 2020 on a MacBook pro.
