Text disappear when paragraph shadding is applied

I'm facing issue when i apply paragraph shadding Text is disappear.

Steps:

1.Create text frame and fill text with place holder.

2.Open paragraph 

3.Select 1 paragraph and apply drop cap(select value 2) and split for same paragraph.

4.select exact below paragraph and apply shadding and observe.

  1. Top side text is Disappears.

Thanks for raising this! I tried reproducing the issue on my end, but everything seemed to work fine. The text didn't disappear when I applied paragraph shading after the drop cap and paragraph split.

To help me dig a bit deeper, could you please confirm which version of InDesign you're using and share details of your operating system? Also, is this happening with just one file, or do you see it across multiple documents, including newly created ones?

If possible, a quick screen recording of the entire workflow leading up to the issue would be super helpful. That way, I can make sure I'm following the exact same steps and didn’t miss anything on my end.

try exporting a PDF and see if the text is there. Sometimes effects just don't display well or properly in indesign but they are actually fine when you export the PDF for print.
