Text disappears when typing in text box Indesign 2025 Vers. 20.1

Hi There!

We are a public company in Germany, using Adobe Cloud.

Our public relations team has discovered an issue since we made an Update form Windows 10 to Windows 11 in Adobe InDesign.

When typing/editing text in a textbox, the text disappears. Not everytime but often enough to be very annoying.

I found an old thread from 2021 with MAc where this issue was fixed with an Update to Version 17.X.

Well we already got a up to date Version.

So maybe any other suggestions?

Yours sincerely

Michael

Hi @service_7273,

Thanks for sharing the details. I see you're currently on InDesign version 20.1. Could you please update to the latest release 20.5 from the Creative Cloud desktop app and check if the issue still occurs? If it does, try switching the Display Performance to High Quality Display (View > Display Performance) and see if that helps. It would also be good to test after resetting InDesign preferences in case you haven't tried that yet. If the problem continues, a short screen recording showing the behavior and confirmation whether it happens with all documents or only specific ones will help me check this further with the team.

Looking forward to your update.

Abhishek

Do you have Text Wrap turned on at default or is text wrap applied to some nearby other frame on the page? Has your publishing group ever considered hands-on training?
