Text Not Continuing with Primary Text Frames in InDesign

Why when I add pages to my document - it doesn't continue the text?

I made sure to choose primary text frames when creating the documents.

Hi @Hendy374084080dng,

Thank you for reaching out! I understand how frustrating it can be when the text doesn’t automatically flow to new pages, even after selecting primary text frames.

Could you please let me know which version of InDesign and operating system you're using? This will help us troubleshoot more effectively.

To ensure the text flows correctly, check if your text frames are threaded properly. You can do this by selecting the Selection Tool (V), clicking on the out port (the small box with a plus sign at the bottom right of the text frame), and then clicking on the next page's text frame to link them. If this doesn’t work, please try reassigning the frames as primary text frames by going to the Pages panel and selecting the frame options.

If possible, could you also share a screen recording of your workflow? That would help us pinpoint where things might be going wrong.

Looking forward to your response!

Thank you,
Abhishek Rao

I think you are looking for:

Smart Text Reflow:

But I would try to avoid it - better to reflow text "manually" - with Shift.
