The background keeps blinking. When I click on it, it stops. But then it starts again. I can't find any error messages.

I am using InDesign 2025, version 20.0.1

Thanks for reaching out! To assist you better, could you please share the following details:

1. Your operating system (macOS or Windows) and its version.

2. Are you using any external screens or just a single screen?

3. Since when has this issue been happening?

4. Have you made any changes to the application configuration, added plugins, or installed any third-party software on your machine after which the issue started?

To help isolate the problem, we recommend testing in Safe Mode:
Additionally, could you share a screen recording demonstrating the issue? It will help us understand the behavior better.
Looking forward to your response!

  1. I have MacOS Sonoma, version 14.6.1.
  2. I am using an external screen.
  3. I've noticed it before but today has been worse.
  4. No changes.

Using another person's suggestion I turned of GPU Performance in the InDesign preferences. If that doesn't help I will make a screen recording.

Thanks!

If you are on Mac, try turning off Video accelleration in the prefs.

I am on Mac but could not find "video acceleration" in the prefs. The closest I found was GPU performance. Is that the same thing?

Sorry, yes. I'm on PC and that's a Mac-only setting.

Turn off or disable or remove an app called Magnet.
