Hello there!
I plan to work on manga which has a right to left page flow. I recently downloaded the trial version of InDesign 2019 but am going off a video tutorial of an older version of InDesign (not sure which year it is, but pages look like this:
I managed to create a two page spread in InDesign 2019
My first question is, how can I drag and drop images so it is exactly in the center, like the older version of indesign where you drag it on the X?
My second question is, according to this article, I can "set the Binding option to Right To Left in the Document Setup dialog box" but how do I do that exactly?
I went to File>Document Setup... and there is no binding option.
I then tried creating a new document to see if "document setup dialogue box" was actually that, but it also doesn't show any binding options.
I read in a haphazard google search that the later versions of InDesign doesn't have a right to left page spread option. Is that true?
Any help is much appreciated!
There are many articles in this forum on how to add the left-to-right reading (usually relating to Arabic/Hebrew content).
Check

Regarding the entering of images, Check that View menu > Grids & Guides > Smart Guides are selected so when you place/move a frame, it will snap (with a faint guideline appearing) as you reach the vertical or horizontal centre. The Layout menu > Create guides is a great tool also.

EDIT: Thanks for your reply Eric. You are correct, the only English version with a binding option is the English Hebrew version.
EDIT 2: Thanks to Migintosh for the clarification. It's true I'm new to InDesign and Greatly appreciate your explanation regarding frames. I am being taught through a private video tutorial and am having trouble parsing through the directions. Thank you for essentially answering my second question.
1. I've uninstalled English Hebrew and installed English (International) version so the numbers are in roman numerals. Is there a way I can create a right-to-left page flow through the international version?
2. I'm not sure what you mean by frame. I dragged an image into indesign and the image icon appears on the mouse, but no matter where I hover it, there are no guides that snap the image exactly to the center and enlarges it so that images reaches all edges. Is there a way I can make that happen?

Hi Michelle,
For Left to Right spread and Binding you need to install ME version: Find and install Hebrew or Arabic editions of InDesign CC or Illustrator CC.

I can't tell if you are new to InDesign, or maybe you've used it a while back, and you're a little rusty. It looks like the two screen shots you posted have one difference. The first one has image frames (boxes that images are inside) already on the pages. An image frame has an X going through it, so I think that's the X you are talking about. If you place an image onto a document page that doesn't already have an image frame, it will create one for you, but it will only be as large as the image itself. If you have an image frame already, you can click into it, and the image will be placed inside, but how it fits is determined by the Frame Fitting Options. If you go to Object>>Fitting>Frame Fitting Options, you can set how they work for a selected frame, or for all new frames if you do it while no frame is selected. Existing frames will have to be changed individually, or you can use an object style.
Just FYI, but if my assumption about your level of skill with InDesign was correct, you should know that the more you know going into a project can help you avoid problems that can cost you time and money, so if that's the case, consider getting some training. If I'm wrong, no offense intended.
