I collect a project to desktop and do a final 'move' of the folder to our backup server. All files and folder disappears as it should... but moments later, the folder re-appears with only a "document fonts" folder inside it with a random file (AdobeFnt.lst).
Ive been moving and archiving files like this for years and never had this issue.. now, its happening with every folder I move.
Anyone have a similar issue or know of a fix?

Presumably this is the same bug as https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign/indesign-is-creating-extra-folders-after-packaging-files/td-p/10962315?page=1

Have you tried resetting preferences and restarting?

Same thing's just started happening to me. Only recent change is the upgrade to InDesign 15.0.2.

I can't even begin to imagine how this could be an InDesign issue.

I think it's related to InDesign packaging fonts. The folder just has to be moved, not necessarily copied to a server. It then reappears with just the Documents folder inside containing the AdobeFnt.lst file. The folder reappears whenever the next job is packaged. The problem doesn't occur if the package doesn't include fonts

Then Bob, stretch that imagination a little. This started on multiple machines immediately after the 15.0.2 update. With all the different Macos levels, different font managers, etc., I would find it difficult to not believe that the recreation of the folder that contained the InDesign document and the creation of a 'Document Fonts' folder within it (uniquely InDesign) is not the sympton of an InDesign bug.
I will add that I don't think this is related to packaging, but simply to having an InDesign document opened and closed and then moving the enclosing folder. Seems that perhaps InDesign font function is not letting go of the activated fonts?

Yes, we are on Catalina, but no issues with fonts.

Did you try using InDesign's "Package" utility and have the new folder dropped onto your backup server?

I've just been packaging onto my own Mac desktop. I think the server part is irrelevant. InDesign seems to keep the link to a packaged folder and recreates it if fonts are included whenever another job is packaged. It's not a massive problem for me as I don't usually include fonts in packages

Yes indeed. Same issue exactly, but it does not matter if it is a network folder or a local folder. Once you move the enclosing folder, the duplicate with the empty font folder shows up in the original location.

And I have been searching for a valid link to post a complete bug report, with no luck.

Still not seeing any response from Adobe on this. I did submit a bug report, with the steps to re-create the problem. Hey, and Quark has a special till 3/11 on their program....
