I am writing to seek assistance regarding an issue I am experiencing while trying to install an Adobe application. I keep encountering the following error:
“Your computer appears to be offline” (Error Code: 206)
I have already tried the recommended troubleshooting steps, including:
Checking my internet connection (stable and working).
Restarting my computer.
Running the installer as an administrator.
Disabling Windows Firewall and antivirus temporarily.
Despite performing all these steps, the error persists and the installer fails to complete.
Could anyone please provide guidance on resolving this issue? I would appreciate any instructions or alternative methods to install the application.

Is the CC Desktop application installed? Are you trying to install from that? Have you tried logging out and back in?

Hi @master_hope5F8C,
Thanks for sharing the details. I know how frustrating Error 206 can be, especially when your internet is working normally. This usually happens when the Creative Cloud app isn't able to make a secure connection to Adobe’s servers, even though the system is online. To help narrow things down, could you confirm if the Creative Cloud Desktop app itself is installed and letting you sign in without any issues? It would also be helpful to know if the error appears only when installing InDesign or if the same thing happens with other Adobe apps as well.
In addition to what expert suggested, please try the steps outlined in this article, which covers the most common causes and fixes for Error 206:

Once you have a chance to try these, let me know how it goes.
