Unexplainable text gap

I have an unexplainable text gap and I've tried everything I can think of to fix it. When I back space from "Hellier" it just adds that word to the "before" section and retains the gap, so there don't seem to be any stray characters. I have text wrap on around an image above this, but the two sentences above seem to have no problem. I've been unable to detect the existence of any phantom blocks or objects. Help, please, this is driving me nuts and it's a short drive.

Show hidden characters (Cmd-Opt-I or Windows equivalent) - do you see anything suspicious?

Does the gap remain if you copy the text to the pasteboard or a new file?

Check the story editor for anything wonky.

What happens if you turn off Hyphenation? Also what happens if you use flush left alignment rather than having the text justified?
