i am a journalism instructor and i have multiple students laying out individual pages that we then put in one magazine file on indesign. we have an issue i cannot resolve. We have white boxes above amd below The text box.
They move and seem to be attached but there is not border and we cannot remove. HELP!
1 Correct answer
It is Paragraph rules. I selected all the text on the right-hand page, and it all has 12 pt Paragraph Rules Above and Rules Below.
Turning both rules off fixed the problem.

Creating a screen shot is a function of your computer operating system. Search Google for how to do it on your computer.
You screen shot should be in a format like JPEG or PNG. In the forum editor, click the Insert Image icon at the top of the editing screen.

sorry...I was on my phone and could not figure out. Here it is. If you see the text box on the right, those white boxes above the texts box are what I am talking about. This is showing up in more than one layout.

Can you share a page or two of one of these documents via dropbox (or other file sharing service)? It certainly looks like paragraph rules, but it's hard to tell from just a screenshot.

I can, but it is not paragraph rule. We have checked everything. It feels like it is a virus in the doc. Is that possible? Because it was only on one layout, now it is on more.

You're welcome.
If this is happening in new documents, check your Paragraph Pallet with no documents open.
