Hi guys,

I'm trying to make a kind of infographics, where I want to indicate certain time period by a vertical bar.

There would be fantastic if this can be done based on frame height, where the bar height is = frame height and the text in the frame is vertically centered.

I have to use more than one bar color (=different styles)

Wonder if anybody has an idea of how can it be handled in a relative smart way.

thanks

Ho @Mike_J_001:

You can set this up as a hard drop shadow, and then save it as an object style. Or several styles, when you want to change the color of the rule. Be sure the frame has a white background.

You could use a table, with text centered in each cell and a stroke on the left side of the cell.

thanks, there was indeed an option, but there are many other disadvantages, so I dropped it.

Hi, thanks

Seems to be a very interesting concept!

However for unknown reason I can't apply efects to an object (text frame), even when settings for object is selected.

All the time I got the text effects instead 😞

EDIT: ok, I know there is a text frame background issue 🙂

Hi @Mike_J_001:

Did you figure out that you needed to make the text frame background white?

I had a minute this morning and since this question has come up here a few times, I wrote up the steps on my blog:
