Where did my page go!?

Explorer ,
Apr 01, 2019 Apr 01, 2019

Windows 10 64bit. InDesignCC 14.0.1

Making a booklet, facing page. Started out like this (this is a different previous version). As you can see, looks pretty normal. The page is there in the the pages panel, and the content is all well and good.

However, in my latest document...The front page has disappeared at some point. The content is there (circled) and able to be moved around, but I can't seem to make the page appear where it should be. HELP. Even if I try to add a page, it inserts itself into the main body and not as a cover page (if that makes sense).

Wow, gee, wish I'd thought to get out of preview mode. I'm not an amateur!   B-master wasn't corrupted, those were just the guides in it. That still doesn't explain why the front page doesn't show up in the panel. Or in the pasteboard.

This didn't solve the problem, but I closed & re-opened and saved as a new document with a new file name and that seems to have fixed the issue? Not entirely sure.

@maxwithdax Started at page 1.

Panel UI corruptions can sometimes be fixed by trashing your InDesign Caches folder. On Widows should be here:

C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign\<Version #>\<Language>\Caches\

Elissa:

Did you notice that the A Master page thumbnails are missing, and that there is a large gap where they should be? It sounds like you are back on track, but in case this returns—or some other oddity—here's a reference for dealing with damaged InDesign files:

I actually hadn't, but I appreciate the resources.

Thank you everyone!

Looks like the b-master may be corrupt. Try exporting as IDML and opening that.

Did you check your document settings for what page your document starts on?
