I was trying to sync Bai Jamjuree in indesign and it wasn't loading:
https://fonts.adobe.com/fonts/bai-jamjuree
I noticed that Mac has this as a system font:
https://support.apple.com/en-us/120414
Could this possible be the reason the Adobe font wasn't syncing?
I tried deactivating/activating the system font but it still wouldn't sync. The Adobe font eventually synced while the system font was deactivated. I don't know if this was just a coincidence.
Will mac system fonts with the same name stop Adobe Fonts from syncing?

Thank you for reaching out!
It is possible that macOS system fonts with the same name as Adobe Fonts can cause conflicts that may prevent Adobe Fonts from syncing properly. To help investigate further, could you please provide the following details:
1. The version of InDesign you are using.
2. The version of macOS you have installed.
Additionally, could you let me know if this issue occurs only with InDesign or if it happens with other Creative Cloud applications like Illustrator as well? This information will help in narrowing down the cause and providing you with the best solution.
Looking forward to your response!
Best,
Abhishek Rao

InDesign version: 20.0
macOS version: 14.6.1
So far, it has only happened with InDesign. However, generally I've found the Adobe Fonts take some time to sync on all apps, especially InDesign, and I've gotten into the habit of manually activating fonts via the site.
Thank you for your response!

Thank you for sharing the details! It’s helpful to know the versions of InDesign and macOS you’re using.
You’re correct that system fonts with the same name can sometimes interfere with Adobe Fonts syncing, especially in macOS, where font management can lead to conflicts. The steps you took to deactivate the system font were a good call, and the successful syncing afterward might not have been a coincidence.
Font caches can sometimes cause syncing delays or conflicts. Clearing the font cache may help resolve these issues (https://adobe.ly/48Z2A1q).
Also, ensure both your Creative Cloud apps and macOS are up to date to reduce compatibility issues.
Let us know how it goes!
Best,
Anshul Saini
