Hello, I have installed the latest version of Adobe Indesign, but now I can no longer perform preflight and pdf. The program crashes in a 'random' way and it is not possible to understand why.

I tried to uninstall / install the program again but with the same result.

I have work in progress that I need to complete and I thank those who can help me.

MacOs Catalina 10.15.6 operating system.

Thank you.

How much RAM do you have?

Have you tried resetting your InDesign Preferences?

Hi there,

Apologies for the delayed response. We're sorry to hear about your experience. I see you have tried resetting preferences and reinstalled the app which did not help with crashing.

I'd request logging into root account (https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT204012). Check how application works there. If it works fine there, then it could be related to permission errors. Follow these steps to repair permission errors:

  • Go to Terminal (Go Utilities Terminal.app)
  • Execute the following command on terminal to provide permission:
    • sudo chmod -R 777 /Users/<user>/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign
    • sudo chmod -R 777 /Users/<user>/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign
    • sudo chmod -R 777 /Users/<user>/Library/Application Support

Let us know if it helps.

Regards,

Ashutosh
