Hi. We used to be able to have text imported automatically in a specific font and size with indents when we brought text into InDesign but it appears to have disappeared. We are running a newspaper and handle a lot of pages on a weekly basis. We would like all text to automatically import at 9.5pt Palatino Linotype with an indent no matter where it comes from or the formatting it had in the document. How would this be setup? I cannot find a solution to answer this specifically anywhere. That way when we place or copy/paste, it auto show up already formatted. Thank you!

Create a paragraph style with the formating you want. Select that paragraph style from the Paragraph Styles panel  with no text or object selected. Now that is the default formatting for the document. Any text pasted or placed that is not already formatted will be in that style.
