Can't resize text block

Engaged ,
Dec 08, 2016 Dec 08, 2016

Can't resize text block in InDesign CS4. If I make a text area then add text to it, as soon as the text reaches the right-hand edge of my text block, the text disappears.
In order to stop this from happening I have to insert returns where the right-hand edge of a column should be.

If I try to resize the text block, all the text disppears.

I've restarted the computer and InDesign.

Any ideas?

Thanks to all who answered my post. I just reinstalled the program and it's working fine. No idea why it occurred the first time but it made it impossible to use the program unless I kept manually entering returns in lines of text. The program was working fine on my laptop so I assume it must have been corrupted or fallen victim to a virus.

Hi

My guess is that you have "No break" option turned on in your paragraph style (or character style that would be applied to all your text)

Or you say not about this?

The poster is using CS4. The auto-size feature was added in CS6.
