connect frames within a book across .indd documents

Hi everyone!

I’ve been working with InDesign for a few years now and have published a series of ukulele methods on Amazon KDP. For my new book I would like to do the following: I’d like to point to a page number in the Appendix from every piece in the Repertoire part and have the page numbers in that particular frame adjust automatically. All my different chapters are Indesign documents and I’d like to create intelligent page numbers between different documents that are connected in this book. I know how to do this within the same document and found a great tutorial on it. But is it possible to do this across documents?

You should be able to accomplish this using cross references.
