Creating Auto-Duplicate Text in Multiple Form Fields

New Here ,
Feb 28, 2018 Feb 28, 2018

I am using Adobe Indesign CC and created a master template, which has text form fields. I want the text form fields on page 1 to duplicate to page 3, so that when someone types in their name, in the "Data" field I created, it automatically duplicates to subsequent pages. I copied the text form fields from one master page to the next and when I create a PDF, form the master, the files duplicate. When I use Data Merge the text form fields do not come in as the same text field, it creates subsequent text fields (eg. "Data", "Data 1", "Data 2", "Data 3", etc.....). I want all the "Data" fields to be the same. How do I go about doing this? I am fairly new, so I need specific steps. Thanks

You are not the first to complain about this behaviour.

Unfortunately, you have to rename the fields in Acrobat.

Thanks Fenja. Any chance this is something that could be updated in InDesign Data/Merge? My master template is 4 pages, and two of those pages have the auto-duplicate text fields. After doing data merge, the first four pages act correctly (two pages auto-duplicate) and after the 4th page that is when the text fields become subsequent numbers. Would be a great feature in the data/merge to have.
