Data Merging - Exporting the file name?

New Here ,
Dec 20, 2018 Dec 20, 2018

Good day,

I'm working on product banners at the moment, all my data and images are linked up and working.

After data merging, is there a way to export the pages to .jpg using the data from the .csv to name the file the ProductName.jpg? Sort of like how you name an artboard in Illustrator then when you export multiple artboards the artboards name is the name of the output file?

If not, there's a new challenge for the InDesign developers

I don't think InDesign can do this natively. Sounds like a job for scripting, to me.

I haven't done scripting in so long...

Do you perhaps have the code?

Yes, I have a script that will do this: https://colecandoo.com/2015/11/28/data-merge-from-indesign-to-unique-filenames-script-to-remain-free...

If the answer wasn't in my post, perhaps it might be on my blog at colecandoo!
