InDesign Adding Clipping Path Automatically

New Here ,
Oct 05, 2018 Oct 05, 2018

Hi all!

I am trying to figure out this strange thing happening in InDesign. Every time I drop in an image in my page, my image gets a clipping path added to it. I can't remove it. My image is a JPEG so it doesn't have layers or anything that InDesign will pick up on. I've tried adding images using Insert also, and it does the same thing. HELP! How do I stop this from happening? It does it to EVERY image I drop in, regardless of what it is.

I've also tried going to Object > Clipping Path > Options, and it says NONE

Here is a screenshot.

If you click on the image with the Direct Selection tool is the clipping path visible?

You could try selecting the image with the Direct Selection tool and copying the image. Create a new empty frame and with the empty frame selected choose Edit > Paste Into. Does that eliminate the clipping path?

If none of this works, try deleting preferences, as Anna suggested.

If deleting preferences doesn't work try uninstall/reinstall InDesign.
