Hi,

backsaving from CC to CS2 requires some steps:

1. Save your document to IDML using the appropriate version of InDesign CC.

2. Open the IDML file with InDesign CS4.

3. Export the opened document in CS4 to INX exchange format.

4. Open the exported INX with InDesign CS3.

5. Export the opened document with CS3 to INX exchange format.

6. Open the INX exported by CS3 with CS2.

Steps 4 and 5 could be done by editing the INX file with an appropriate app like Springy on Mac OSX bypassing InDesign CS3.

Regards

So the question boils down to:

Are you able to find and install a CS4 and a CS3 trial version of InDesign?

FWIW: If you used any new feature above CS2 you are out of luck to save back that feature to your old CS2. Also prepare for massive text redraw issues if you manage the conversion.

Uwe

What Uwe is saying here is that if you expect to open these files you'll need CS4 installed as well as CS3. There is no legitimate way to buy those versions anymore so the chances of opening those files is almost zero without subscribing to Creative Cloud.
