indesign reports missing fonts which I cannot find anywhere and cannot replace

Hi there,

i work with the indesign 2019 version (i cannot update). My document is without errors and also the preeflight is green. When I open the document I get an error message, I am missing a font. I use the font DINOT light in my document. The error message shows me that the font DINOT HP3 light is missing. I see that there are 6 characters in this font on page 61. But I cannot search for the characters, I cannot replace the font and the characters are not visible.

I have already checked layers and sample pages.

On the page 61 there is a text frame which is an inCopy link.

How can I remove the font from my document or replace it with the correct font?

Has anyone ever had this case?

many thanks in advance!

Hi Sophie,

how do you know that there are 6 characters of DINOT HP Light on page 61?

Pure speculations from my side:

1. There is a button or a multistate object on that page. With a state that currently is not active and where text is formatted with DINOT HP Light.

2. There is a graphic frame on that page. Inside this graphic frame is a pasted text frame where text is formatted with DINOT HP Light. However that text is outside of the graphic frame's bounds so that it is not visible on the page.

Ah. The InCopy link. Can you do something about it?

Check the story in for example? Why is there a InCopy link?

Are you part of an InCopy workflow?

Hm. Do you see a link to an icml file in the Links panel?

If yes, can you use the command Go to Link from the Links panel? And if you do so, will the text frame be selected with the text using the font you cannot change? Then you might be able to unlink the link to that icml file. And the text frame should  revert to a  "normal" text frame that you can edit.

Maybe that will help:

Reading about InCopy workflows.
