I teach in a computer lab. One of my students keeps getting the following error message:Cannot place this file. No filter found for requested operation. None of my other students have had this issue. This particular assignment has her placing jpgs and an eps - none of them will work. 

We are working on PCs.

Which version of InDesign and OS?

Are you able to open these images in other applications?

EPS is an obsolete format, perhaps use native Illustrator docs instead.

InDesign 2019, Windows 10.
Think I figured it out - students might have been trying to open up images
from the folder that is used for Macs by mistake.

Sometimes files get their bits mixed up. Sometimes I've solved this problem by simply restarting my computer!
