I am designing some artwork for a manufacturer that has to be in RAL. Is there a RAL colour library I can import into InDesign? If not, do I just used the closest conversion in CMYK and hope for the best???

It looks like RAL has software similar to Pantone, which will let you export an .acb library which InDesign can read. I'm not familiar RAL, but it looks like a solid ink system, so with the Lab value of a color you could make a spot color swatch from the swatches panel set to the color's name and Lab values. You always want to be clear whether the print output will be spot or process.
