Yup.
Is the text in one document aligned to the baseline grid, and not in the other?
If both are aligned to the grid: is the grid at the same distance?
If no to both: if the leading value is "(Auto)" (or a number between parenthesis, which also indicates "Automatic"), is the Autoleading value in Justification different?

As Bob suggests, formatting changes usually are caused by copying and pasting text with styles (either Object, Paragraph, or Character) that have the same name, but different definitions in the source and destination. For example the [Basic Paragraph] or [Basic Text Frame] styles with different defintions in the two docs.

There isn't a none Paragraph style—an existing style could be based on the [No Paragraph Style], but unless you have explicitly selected all of the text and broken the style links there would be some style applied.
You could try breaking the style links. Before you copy and paste select all of the text, and choose Break Link to Style from the Paragraph and Character Styles panel.
