hi,

I exported a PNG file, and chose the "transparent background" option.

I then open this file with Irfan View, Copy it,

and then insert it in a pdf in pdf x change maker.

The Background is black, not transparent.

What could be the problem? Thanks.

Don’t copy it. Likely to lose the transparency if it was ever there. If you want to check transparency use Photoshop.

This Adobe forum and nobody here can answer to you about Irfan or pdfxchange bugs. Did you open your png in Photoshop and check your transparency?

Remember, never say you can't do something in InDesign, it's always just a question of finding the right workaround to get the job done. © David Blatner

Hi Peter,

Thanks for reaching out. George is right, we do not have experience with these apps. Could you please check how the image looks in Photo Viewer/ Preview/ Photoshop?

If the image shows transparency there, then it could be related to the import mechanism of these (Irfan or pdfxchange) apps.

If the image doesn't look fine in Photo Viewer/ Preview/ Photoshop, please check and confirm if the issue is related to a specific document? If yes, could you please share the document with us? You can upload it to the Creative Cloud (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/share.html) and share the download link.

We'd be glad to help.

Regards,

Srishti

Hi Peter,

did you export a selection to PNG or a whole InDesign page?

Thanks,
