Rotate a .mov file for an interactive PDF export

I have some videos shot vertically on my phone. When I import them into inDesign they come in as horizontal. I rotate them and shrink them in inDesign but when I export as an interactive PDF it gives me this message:

"One of more interactive elements are rotated or sheared in ways that PDF files cannot reproduce. Those elements will be adjusted in the exported PDF."

When you open the pdf and play the file it maintains the horizontal orientation and squashes the video. Is there a way keep the rotated video in the vertical position so it can be viewed properly in the interactive PDF.

Rotate them in the proper application and resave them. This can even be done in Photoshop.

It's not a good idea to rotate or scale videos inside of InDesign.

If you were using an iPhone or iPad, here are instructions for rotating video:

How to Rotate Video on iPhone & iPad

Presumably, there are similar methods for Android phones but you'll have to search for those.

When I play the videos in QT the orientation of the video is correct. It only changes when I import it into inDesign.

Sorry, I've never run into that problem, and I don't have a suggestion for you, I'm afraid.
