Why so many updates?

Why does InDesign have to have so many updates? I can't really see that the updates are making things better or different. All they're doing, as far as I'm concerned, is invalidating my paid plugin software and forcing me to buy updates because the existing stuff won't work with the 2021 update. I really wish Adobe could just leave things alone for a minute. I'm tired of shelling out money every 6-12 months to let my other software keep up with Adobe's constant changes.

You don't have to upgrade. You can disable auto-updates in the CC desktop app.

Why the updates?

• The yearly updates offer new features, i.e., https://creativepro.com/whats-new-in-indesign-2021/
• The patches are usually bug fixes.
