Lightroom Classic

Lightroom was working perfectly this morning.. I come to load in new images and edit some while sitting here.. and as soon as Lightroom opened up - I tried to slide exposure (and other ones to test those...) and the slider immediately jumps one way or another.  I have reset preferences, turned off GPU.. NOTHING is helping.. please help me! 

LrC up to date (15,6) however when I go to LrC and use a people image, then use masking icon, the icon to use the latest upgrade (i.e.) as shown by Terry White, is not there.   Dale

I just discovered something weird that in over 15 years of using Lightroom Classic (and it's several other names over the years) I have never seen before.  I have 165k photos imported into my catalog.  I have a photo with the name DSC01885.ARW and a virtual copy of it.  When I sort the photos by capture time they are separated by several photos.  Looking carefully at the times of the photos I see the several photos were taken at 12:52:09 to 12:52:47 on 2009/12/23.  Here is the order they appear in grid view when sorted by capture time:DSC01885.ARW 12:52:47DSC01882.ARW 12:52:09DSC01883.ARW 12:52:31DSC01884.ARW 12:52:46DSC01885.ARW 12:52:47 (virtual copy)When I sort the photos by file name they are not next to each other either.  They appear separated by several photos.Weird.  Any ideas?Mac version.  Backup function performed on every exit daily.

Lightroom Classic 15.6 Syncing is hanging for me. I started by deleting all my existing cloud data so that everything would be fresh today and then tried to sync a bunch of collections. Some already have smart previews, some don't. There are about 2500 images. Most of the images have synced but now I am down to the last 150, syncing seems to stop or hang. It now does anything between 2 and 4 each time I start lightroom, but no more. I have to close and restart for sync to continue. Is there a fix for this? Is it a known issue?

A couple of months ago, I went to open a Lightroom Classic catalog, and it appeared to crash. The first Lightroom graphic appeared, but after a few minutes, the catalog didn’t open. At first, I force-quit and tried again. That didn’t help. Then I resorted to pulling an old catalog file from Time Machine, which worked initially but later failed the same way after closing the catalog and reopening. It wasn’t always immediate. Sometimes I could close the catalog and reopen it right away, and it would work, but eventually it failed the same way again.  I dug around in the Lightroom community and found many other people having similar issues, but most seemed to be using Windows 11. People said Lightroom would eventually open if you left it long enough. Several hours! I tried this and found that it was true. Hi Adobe Lightroom Classic team,I regularly shoot panoramas with the DJI Mavic 4 Pro using Free Panorama mode. In most cases, Lightroom Classic merges them perfectly, so this is not a general issue with DJI panoramas.However, I have encountered several specific panorama sets where Lightroom Classic is unable to create a panorama, while the exact same source files can be successfully stitched in other software, including Affinity Photo.From what I can see, the issue may occur more often with panoramas that contain a larger proportion of sky or less distinct detail in some parts of the frame, although I cannot say for certain that this is the cause.I would be very happy to provide the exact original image sets where Lightroom fails, together with examples of the successful stitched results from other software. Since two days in Develop module all sliders jump to the left when I want to use them. 

I have just spent over two hours trying to view & edit some pictures in LrC but keep getting the message "Lightroom not responding" & have to close it down & try again. About 30+ times so far. First I couldn't even get it to show the folder I wanted then next time I got as far as viewing the folder but was unable to select a picture before it stopped responding, next I got the piocture but couldn't move in to Develop etc, etc.This is not the first time this has happened, which is why I haven't edited anything  since before Christmas as it is so annoying. Especially after having the issue with photoshop that wouldn't recognise RAW files.How can Adobe justify increasing their prices when their product fails to do what it is meant to do.On top of all that I have just heard that the prices are rising & that the most affordable package is being withdrawn. Hi! Kind of a noob here, so please bear with me.   Problem: Today, while working in Lightroom Classic, I noticed that a bunch of my photos had an exclamation point icon added to them. See the image below. When I hover over the icon, it says "Error writing metadata" (pretty scary) Clicking the icon opens the window below. When I click "Import Setting from Disk" my adjustments seem to be cleared away (not great, lol).   When I click "Retry Metadata Export" that seems to fix the issue. The only problem is that there are thousands of photos that display that icon.   At first, I thought the issue was isolated to photos that I had made edits on, but upon further investigation, it seems that that is not the case.   Personal Investigation I'd Done: Naturally, I googled the issue but haven't found any definitive answers. We are working in LR Classic. Students were working on drives that were formatted to match their OS–Mac Extended Journaled for those on Macs using spinning drives, APFS for those on Macs using solid state external drives, and NTFS for those working on Windows. Many students were not able to copy or move files into their LR catalog upon import on both Macs and Windows–the external hard drive was not available–and showed up as red with a warning. Many of the students were not working with card readers.The workaround we came up with was moving the photos into the desired destination folder in the finder, and then trying to import by using the “add” function. However, for several students, the “add or move” function wasn’t available and only the “copy as a dng” or “copy” were, but not to the external drive. In the Lightroom Classic Develop module, when using the HSL panel (and similar ones), I suggest using the right mouse button (context menu) to switch between Hue, Saturation, and Luminance modes, rather than constantly moving the mouse back and forth every time you need to change modes (which happens very often). As you can see, the commands to change H,S,L are uneasy to reach when working with the mouse in the middle of an image 

I am unable to sync any videos from downloads to the computer to access them in Lightroom. This began after I tried to sync videos from my phone to the cloud so I could access them in LR. This all seems to unnecessarily complicated. Can you help please? I’m using Windows 11 with LR v13-3

Hello Adobe TeamWhen I need to refine the edit in Photoshop I export directly from Lr to Ps. But when it’s time to save the file and return to Lightroom I always get a filename with a Lowercase extension. There is no option to set it to Uppercase [image 1], unlike the export dialog [image 2].  I tried to rename the file manually within Lightroom, rewriting the extension to Uppercase in the Filename field, but doesn’t work. It reverts to Lowercase on pressing enter to confirm the change.I also tried renaming outside Lightroom, in the Finder, then right click on the image in Lr. But there is either no option to synchronize only the file. Synchronizing the folder is not always desirable. there might be images I don’t want/need in Lr. I’ve also noticed that renaming outside Lightroom, when I get back into Lr, there is no alert badge on the file preview signalling the external change.By the way, what I’m asking here is Uppercase extension when exporting from Lr to edit in Ps or External Edi

Letters in texts added in books in Book module are rotated in LrC 15.3. The rotation seems to happen per line as displayed (not per carriage return). Switching back to 15.2.1 put the letters correctly again, and upgrading to 15.3 rotates the letters.Attached two screenshots of the same page in a book in 15.2.1 and 15.3.15.2.115.3The letters are also rotated for a new book created in 15.3.

If I am running Aftershoot and editing in there no prob, same with PS.. but when LR is on for more than 10 it keeps selecting my 6 MONTH OLD SSD! I changed cables, slots, etc.. reverted back one version to see if it helps. I will be super upset if LR crashes my external… I clearly need to do a backup 

This has been happening for probably a week or two. I have it by default apply content credentials to every jpg I export - can’t hurt, right?In every single export lately, a random number of them ‘fail to apply’ and hence do not export at all. I have to keep going to the export dialog, click ‘skip’, and it will export a few more and fail to export a random number. Currently I have done this 8 times to a set of 148, and am down to one single file that it just doesn’t seem to want to apply them to ever. I assume this is a bug and I should give up on credentials until this is fixed.  Mac Mini M4 Pro, OS 26.5.2
