P: Arrow keys broken in Compare

In the Library module, I select a group of photos and use "compare" mode. Up until I upgraded to 9.4, I could use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move between the pictures in the group. That's broken now. It's not my keyboard (keys work fine). The graphical arrows on the Lightroom interface still work with the mouse.

More features = more bugs. Just a fact of life. There's no such thing as zero defects where on a piece of inexpensive software or a billion $/€/¥ piece of hardware.

One of the reasons (certainly not the only one) that we got Lightroom is that full Photoshop became so bug ridden that it became unusable for all except masochist (much improved lately).

If we want fewer bugs then we need to convince Adobe to remove features that have no business in a photo editor (e.g. video support), duplicate features (tagging which can all be done with keywords and 4 different ways of using the same feature) and features that fewer than one in a thousand customers will ever use.

Closing Lightroom and then opening it again. Couldn't hurt to also restart your computer.

Not sure if this should be a separate post but pressing "C" on the keyboard used to enter and exit the Comparion mode. Now, it will start the Comparison mode but won't exit, at least until I click on one image to activate the Zoom function.

[edit] Just noticed that the keyboard arrow keys would start working after activating the zoom function on one of the pictures by clicking on it, at least until another function is used, like swap X and Y.  At which point, have to activate zoom again to regain functionality of the arrow keys on the keyboard.

Thanks for the fix. Keys are now working in compare mode again.

Unfortunately I had 2 total LR crashs in 3 hours. I (almost) never had to use the task manager to close LR before.

This is broken for me too.  Mac 10.13.6.
I have always used the arrow keys in the compare mode to switch back and forth between images, and now this does not work. Please advise.

@Rick This is not working for me. I updated to version 9.4. running on Mac 10.13.6 and in compare view, the arrow keys do not function as before in version 9.3. I find t this a real loss as my workflow has always included being able to switch between frames--back and forth--to compare images. Please advise.

@ROBERT SALTZMAN  update to Lightroom 10.0 after updating your OS and this bug should be fixed.

The fix is in 10.0 - not 9.4 - you will need to update OS and Lightroom.

Thanks for the prompt reply, Rick. Is leaving my present OS necessary? I use several programs that need it. Is there a way to revert to 9.3?

Now there is a new problem connected with LrC10:

When using the compare view to compare several pictures the zoom position is changed (in both pictures) when skipping one picture with the keyboard right arrow.

"When using the compare view to compare several pictures the zoom position is changed (in both pictures) when skipping one picture with the keyboard right arrow."

Since these are different symptoms from the original bug report, please start a new conversation (top-level post). That will make it easier for others to find and Adobe to notice.
