Issue: Converting to DNG removes star rating

Lightroom Classic 11.4

MacOS 12.4

Steps to reproduce:

Rate files with 1 star

Convert Sony A1 raw files to DNG with the following settings:

Only Convert Raw files

Delete originals after successful conversion

File extension DNG

JPEG preview medium

Embed Fast Load Data

Use Lossy Compression

Expected result: new DNG files should maintain the star rating as they have done in previous versions of LR

Acutal result: as soon as the Raw file is converted to a DNG, the star rating disappears

Your edits are in the catalog file. If you want them to be stored in the DNG files, you have to tell Lightroom Classic to write the metadata to the files. (Select the desired photos, then Ctrl-S on Windows and whatever the equivalent is on Mac)

What do you see that indicates the edits are not in the DNG file? How are you determining if the edits are in there or not?

How are you converting to DNG? Please explain the exact step-by-step process, in detail, indicating which LrC commands/functions are being used.

This is known bug. Label and Rating are not applied with Convert to DNG in 11.4.

Olá!
Meu processo de edção é assim:
- Importo e edito as imagens em raw nativo da camera e seleciono minhas favoritas com estrelas ou cor;
- Exporto as imagens pra JPG alta resolução;

We have a bug with Convert to DNG in 11.4. The fix would be available in 11.5.

You can also reduce file size by decrease "resolution" under image sizing section in export dialog. This basically does the same thing as the dng compression to reduce file size.
