P: Crash (11.3) - Launch/Open Catalog - faulting module: substrate.dll : 411196 (Windows)

After updating LR today from the Cloud app on my PC it now fails with an error every time I open it. I have tried updating graphic card drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled LR itself but the problem persists. Was working fine yesterday. It is now unusable as the error occurs on starting up the software. Have sent crash reports via the error popup. Urgent help requested!

Thank you for the follow up and sorry for posting in the wrong thread. I traced my issue to the home folder name change that I had previously done using Apple's guidelines. I had an iMac and a Macbook set up differently (home folder name) which caused issues whenever LR was reading RAW files from my Dropbox folder. I thought setting the same home folder name across both machines would fix it. Little did I know that I was going to introduce another bug with this.

That said, I reverted the change and LR loaded just fine. Thank you all.

@max.krukovsky Let us know if you're able to resolve this issue after granting full access to Lightroom Classic on macOS?

Thanks,

Mohit

@max.krukovsky, this thread is focused on a particular Windows error, which was fixed in LR 11.3.1, while you're on Mac OS 12.3.1. Something changed in Mac OS 12.3.1, and many people are finding they need to grant LR Full Disk Access. See:
https://www.lightroomqueen.com/disk-permissions-monterey-classic/

If that doesn't help, please start a new thread describing your problem.

Hello all,

I am in the same boat where it will not even show splash screen as I launch LRc (Mac OS) and here's my story:

1. LRc crashed on start with this report: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4l8y3v61i2f2rit/Adobe%20LRc%20crach.docx?dl=0

2. I searched online and found a few things I could do about it

3. I reset preferences

4. Renamed two folders in Library path

5. Rolled back to 11.3, 11.2

6. Contacted Adobe Support during which we had a screen sharing session, did full uninstall using cleanup tool, reinstalled CC, reinstalled 11.3.1, created a new admin account and were able to launch LRc without an issue.

7. Logging back into the original account, I'm back to where I started unable to find a workaround.

Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Max

Has there been any success to this update.  I have tried everything and it continues to fail. This is messing with my business. Everything is up-to-date but the program will not launch nor provide with the option to report as others have done in previous comments. Help is needed ASAP.

Open creative cloud and find the 3 dots. Install vs 11.2 or 11.1.

Do you specifically want the older version? It's possible that the age of
whatever version you're using is the problem. Try reaching out via Adobe's
chat function and see if someone can talk you through the options. Good
luck.
