Greetings all, 

 

A new update for Lightroom Classic has been released.  The May 14.3.1 update contains an update for this issue. 

If you do not see the update in your Creative Cloud Application, you can refresh it by hitting [Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+[ R ].

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your update to be available in your Creative Cloud app.

last month i was conisitently getting error message when trying to apply presets in LRC 13, : "some masking models failed to download. please try again later". gave up trying to fix it with the suggested solutions (none of which worked for me) and hoped it would be addressed in an update. well, i updated to LRC 14.0.1 yestereday and now not only do the presets still not work and give the same error message but i now get that error message when i simply try to copy and paste edit settings from one picture to another, even when there are no masks in the copied settings.  extremely frustrating as copy/paste picture settings are used all the time. so still no presets and copy/paste picture settings doesn't work. good update. sheesh.

Hi everyone. This is my first post after reviewing the threads regarding this issue from October 2013. I am currently running v14.2 of LRC and have the following errors: Presets will not apply to images. (I always use Tiff files). When I click on a preset, that then initiates the 'Some masking models are downloading' window. The progress bar starts at 68% and once it has reached 100%, I then get the error message, 'Some masking models failed to download' in a red box at the top of the window. I have uninstalled and reinstalled LRC on my machine which is running Win10. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey, @martin_8495. Welcome to the Lightroom Classic Community. I'll help you figure this out. Please share the system info from Lightroom from Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.

 

Instead of using the Preset, go to the Masking Panel & wait for it to finish. If that does not help:

1- Try connecting your device to a different internet source, like a mobile hotspot.

2 - Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic and find Lightroom.exe.

3 - Right-click on Lightroom.exe and select 'Run as Administrator'.

4 - Wait for some time & then try using the masking tools again.

Also encoutering the same problem and tried everything said before but it wont help. Just contacted Adobe and I hope they can resolve it 🙂

For those of you afflicted,  please reply to this Pinned Post with your Country and Language settings. 

Update (4/28) Thank you to those who've provided Country and language - we no longer need to collect this information. I have passed this on to the team. 

Second update (4/28)

For those of you who have not yet reverted to 14.2, the Classic team would like to collect some additional information from you to help us understand the issue that has eluded reproduction on our end thus far.  The steps below may remediate the problem, but we don't have confirmation. 

 

  1. Verify the contents of  ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/ModelZoo . Are the models there?   A screenshot might help here. 
  2. Are Select Object or Select People working in masking? 

 

  1. Close LRC
  2. Rename the above folder and relaunch LrC
  3. Wait for some time (allow the models to redownload)and then go to masking
  4. Try People Selection and Object Selection
  5. Try the same preset again

 

Do you see the same failure again?

If so, we would like to collect the Original Model Zoo folder contents and a copy of a failing preset (please identify if it is Adobe-shipped or another). Additionally, the team would like to ask if Lightroom Desktop (version?) or Camera Raw (part of PS, version? are installed as well. 

Lastly, if anyone can share the logs located at "~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/Logs" it would be greatly appreciated. 

At this point, the only way around this for the small number of customers affected is to return to version 14.2 until engineering can effect a fix.

Temporary fix: go into the Creative Cloud app, delete current version and downloaded a later version. May have some conflict with catalogs though. Check beforehand.

Hey there
After an update I have an issue with Lightroom CC that it shows "Some masking models are downloading. Please try again later" on MAC OS. Tried to update the computer, but no change after that.

It happens after I apply any preset. Tried to delete the preset and add it again to Lighroom, but still same thing.

I guess it somehow connected to the masking new thing which I anyway don't even use. 

Can I downgrade the Lightroom version maybe? Or what to do? 

Please help here I really need my Lightroom CC 🙂

Me too. Yesterday i went back and forth with an adobe agent by chat and his solution was that I start over all my week's worth of work using Lightroom Classic 10.0 because of course my catalogue can't be opened there. Seriously there needs to be a better solution.

Depuis la mise à jour, je ne peux plus synchroniser les réglages d'une photo sur d'autres (que ce soit en utilisant le bouton "synchroniser" ou en faisant un copier-coller). Une bannière rouge avec le message "le téléchargement de certains modèles masquage a échoué. Veuillez réessayer unltérieurement" alors que n'ai appliqué aucun masquage sur ma première dont je veux synchroniser les réglages. De plus, avec la nouvelle mise à jour je ne peux même pas utiliser les nouveaux masques puisqu'on m'annonce que mon ordinateur n'a pas assez de mémoire graphique. Et je viens de payer 143€ pour ça...
