P: Export at full res fails on Tiff with particular mask

I imported a 9138x6310 TIF file and performed numerous adjustments including several masked adjustments.

The image exports fine at reduced resolution (2048x1414) but if I try to export at full resolution Lightroom gives the error: "An unknown error occurred. (1)". If I click "Turn off Masks" the image (without masks) exports at full resolution with no error. The exports are performed with the "Export..." command.

If instead I attempt to export with masks on via Publish Services ("jf Flickr: in this instance) the following error is reported: "Couldn't render image: AgNegative:renderToFile: <AgErrorID>dng_error_unknown</AgErrorID>".

Lightroom Classic version: 11.0 [ 202110120910-0bccc70d ]
Operating system: Mac OS 12.0.1 [21A559]
Application architecture: x64

Updates to the Adobe Photography Products were released today and contain a fix for this issue. Please install the update via your Creative Cloud Desktop App or your respective App Store.

Note:

You may need to refresh the Creative Cloud App for desktop software to show an update available.  ([Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+ [ R ])

For Mobile downloads, it may take several days for the update to appear in your respective App Stores.

Thank you for your patience.

Thank you for the follow-up Rikk!

I already solved my problem by deleting the offending mask and recreating it. But I was curious and went looking for the errant brush dab. I certainly had no intention to add such a dab to the mask. I got a glimpse of it but then the mask interface becomes non responsive, and I had to restart LR. Then I tried again and the same thing happened. So I don't think I could fix it if I needed to. And that dab is far out of bounds, not close to an edge. I don't think the UI intends to allow out-of-bound dabs, so the creation of the dab is a mystery. So, the development team may be interested in investiging how it got there in addition to handling the contingency of their presence.

Update:

The cause (which will be fixed in the next update) was due to having brush dabs placed out of the image bounds.  We will handle that contingincy better in the future but if you want to fix your image now, you can go in and clean up those brush strokes.

I deleted the mask in question and recreated it from scratch. The file now exports without issue.

I have saved a virtual copy that exhibits the bug, in case you need more info, log files, develop settings, etc. for debugging.

John,

Is it possible to share the file?

If you go the Virtual Copy that fails and export it as a DNG it should give us some indication of where to go next.

Hi Rikk,

Sorry for the delay. For some reason I did not get a notification that you had replied.

When I try to export this virtual copy as DNG, I get the following error. I turned off embedded preview but that didn't help.

The mask consists of just a brush mask.  I reset the effect and it still won't export.

I narrowed this down to one of the 8 masks. If I delete the other 7 masks, the image will still not export at full resolution. However, if I "Reset All Settings" and paste in the mask it will export. So the mask seems to be interacting with other develop settings.
