P: Import window truncated on the right in many languages

The Import window is truncated on the right in six languages in Window > Screen Mode > Normal but,  at least for some languages, not in the other screen modes. (I didn't test all combinations.)

Truncation occurs in German (DE), French (FR), Norwegian (NB), Dutch (NL), Polish (PL), and Russian (RU). See the attached screenshots, including one for English (EN) for comparison.

I tested these configurations of LR 15.0.1:

- Windows 11 (ARM): Preferences > Interface > Font Size: 200%, main window size 2670 x 1561, Windows Display Scaling 250%.

- Windows 11 (Intel): Preferences > Interface > Font Size: 250%, main window size 3093 x 2519, Windows Display Scaling 250%.

I casually observed similar symptoms for NL and DE on Mac OS 15.7.1 but didn't thoroughly test Mac.

@Tjeerd29075636o4uq: "I did switch to another screen mode, but that didn't change a thing."

Interesting. In my testing with multiple languages on both Windows and Mac, it was only Normal that had this bug. But that's the thing with bugs -- by definition, the program is behaving in unexpected ways.,

Thank you Per. I hadn't come to reinstalling Lightroom, when another community member pointed to the language setting as the perpetrator. The switch from Dutch to English made the import screen return to normal. It is not what I desire, but for the moment it will do. I do know a few words in English, so I am able to do what I want to do, import-wise. Now I just have to re-set all my preferences that have gone lost in this whole process.

hi Johnrellis, I did switch to another screen mode, but that didn't change a thing. But the change in language did the trick.

Yes, this is where the problem sits. I changed the language to English and I have the full import screen back. I can work again, hurray! But this is something that should be fixed by Adobe, since I prefer working in my own language.

Hello, I now upload some photos from the upload process (I have LR Classic and another import menue as you) and my own turnaround to fix. When you click import the screen is to big and the import button on the right side below is out of my scrren. With some tricks (first minimize the window, and push the one side to another) the import button occurs. But you can clearly see, the the wohle LR user IF is to wide.

@Rikk Flohr: Photography, "I don't find any reports of this pre 15.0.1 - is that yor observation as well?"

I don't recall any reports. However, I just tried LR 15.0 [sic] on both Mac and Windows in Dutch and observed the same misbehavior.

Based on previous examples, I hope the folk suffering from this issue don't hold their breath too long while waiting for a fix.

FYI - there are other UI bugs in LrC 15 that aren't even language specific. For example, the 'Attributes' bar is missing multiple icons when opened on 13 inch MacBook Air and 14 inch MacBook Pro set for Default screen resolution. This occurred when the icons for 'Comments' and 'Stacks' were added.

Since just recent the window "Import" in Lightroom Classic, without me changing anything in the settings,  cuts of half of the right column, and I cannot make it fit withing the window again. So I cannot see, or change some things when I want to import photos.  Is this a bug or do I miss something?

I have never seen this reported before, but resetting the preferences might fix it.

I guess this could also be caused by using a too high Scaling setting in Windows display settings.

Dear Per, thank you for your reply. Before I try to follow up on your proposal I have two things. First: this phenomenon only occurs in the "import" screen/window, nowhere else in Lightroom. The program funtions perfectly normal but for this glitch. Second: for that same reason I do not think windows scaling settings have anything to do with this. The only thing I can add to this description is that I recently added some AI-presets in the list of presets, bu t it seems strange to me that this would cause this effect.
