P: Library Previews not updating

This hasn't ever happened to me previously and I edit hundreds of images a day, as a wedding photographer. Has only appeared since latest update (so far as I've seen).

Edit an image in Develop mode, normally the thumbnail at the bottom would auto update with the new preview/look. It doesn't anymore. Go to Library mode to check, no, no update to the preview, it's still the old look. Force rebuild standard preview (and 1:1 preview) no effect. The Library preview will not update to the new look created in Develop mode.

Quit LR, then restart it, the preview is updated.

Even did a Sync of one process, which was converting to BW across 5 images. Four of the images changed profile to the new look, the 1st image in the group didn't. Stuck with previous old version of the look. Quit and restart LR it changed to new look.

Updates to the Adobe Photography Products were released on June 13.  Using this release we are no longer able to reproduce this error internally. Please install the update and let us know if the issue has disappeared for you as well.

If you do not see the update (Mac and Win) you can refresh your Creative Cloud App with the keyboard shortcut [Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+[ R ].

Thank you for your patience.

Try the Copy Settings plugin as a workaround.

I bugged this a long time ago and tried to RED FLAG it as much as i possibly could, but my warnings of urgency were often not respected. The bug first appeared when you all changed the behavior of xmp auto-saving.

@Lee Holt904, stated “ Lightroom Classic version: 11.1

Operating system: Mac OS 11 “

End quote.

Have you updated LrC to 11.2 and your operating system?

Has your problem been rectified?

Update your Mac to macOS 12.3.1 and see if that helps.

@Maria232876158e2u(and others with this problem), if the Copy Settings plugin has the same issue, not copying the settings to all the selected photos, perhaps you can help troubleshoot the issue. Though Adobe engineering reported above they had spent at least some time discussing the issue, they haven't been able to reproduce it, and past experience shows that in such situations, little progress will be made in resolving the problem.

I've made an instrumented version of Copy Settings that will attempt to identify photos where the settings didn't get copied properly. This could narrow down the problem and make it more likely Adobe will be able to fix it.

1. Download and install this version of Copy Settings following these instructions:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/liuyknu3ziyksgb/copysettings.1.9.2.zip?dl=0

2. Select the photos to be copy/pasted/synced and note the number of photos selected.

3. Run Copy Settings.

4. If you get a warning that not all settings were copied correctly, then do File > Plug-in Manager, select Copy Settings, and in the Troubleshooting panel, click Show Debug Log. That will open Finder / File Explorer on the file "debug.log" -- send that file to me as a private message here or to my support email address. Also let me know the original number of photos selected (step 2).

LRC: V 11.2

OS: Mac OS Big Sur 11.5.1

M1 Mini 2020 16GB

Camera: Sony A7rIV (RAW)

I'm not sure exactly where to post my identical problem so I thought I'd post it to this thread, as it's the only thread that seems to be addressing this issue. I came here looking to see if there were any reports and/or solutions to this (very frustrating) syncing problem and it looks like many are having the same issue that I am. I'm not sure which LRC version I started having this problem but I believe it was the one where the biggest recent changes were made (the newest masking tools (which seems to also have some problems), heal/clone tool, select subject/sky, etc). But anyway, it seems to only happen to my RAW photos. Whether in the Library - Quick Develop or in the Develop modules, when I have all photos selected, I usually select a preset that includes Auto WB, Lens Correction, Remove Chromatic Aberrations, and a few color saturation adjustments.....then I notice that some of the photos were not adjusted at all. I've noticed that sometimes I can click "reset" and then try again and it may work...but very rarely. Also after trying to apply the preset to all of the photos, I've noticed in the Library module under Quick Develop, it will show that my custom preset has been applied but the white balance with say "multiple settings" indicating to me that the preset was not applied. So I thought maybe everything was applied except for the Auto WB so (in Quick Develop) I switch it to Auto WB....it does it's thing and then the Saved Preset now shows "multiple settings" again indicating that all photos do not have the same settings. Sometimes I can select my custom preset again and it will apply and the Auto WB will stay and sometimes the WB says "multiple settings" again. Usually, I just have to end up scrolling through every single photo and find the ones that were not syncd and individually apply my preset....a HUGE hit to my productivity!...but I have to do it because they are bracketed photos for HDR and if 1 photo from any set does not have the preset, it will ruin that photo (has happend several times), then I have to start over. But once they are exported and I do my merging and import them back into LRC as JPG, I can then apply my next preset to all photos and have had zero instances where they didn't all sync. So, in my case, it only seems to be happening to my RAW images.

Hopefully, that is enough info to help move this issue along and get a solution for all of us having the problem. Thanks for any help on this, I hope there is a solution soon!

After the latest update, there is a problem In the library module with rotating clockwise or counterclockwise.

No change is displayed after rotating clockwise or counterclockwise.

If you repeat the action, the image is rotated by 180°.

So you have to rotate twice in one direction and once in the other direction.

I am unable to reproduce the issue you desribe. Have you tried resetting the LrC preferences? This can now be done using an option in the Preference dialog ‘General’ tab to reset Preferences and relaunch the application. Note that reset button is only visible when you hold down the Option / Alt key.

If resetting preferences doesn't help: After rotating once and not seeing the result in Library, go into Develop and zoom in/out -- do you now see the change?

I've seen similar symptoms in 11.3 with Sync Settings not displaying the results on Library thumbnails or Loupe, and taking the image into Develop showed the changes.

@Békési21914780nctn, when you see a thumbnail in Library not get updated with the new settings, what happens when you click on that thumbnail and go to Develop?  Do you see the copied settings applied to that photo in Develop?

I had the same problem but resetting the preferences worked for me too. It's worth making sure you have a back up of the preferences file before you reset so that you can easily revert to how everything worked before resetting.

Since version 11.3 I have the following problem: If I want to synchronize settings with other images in the development module, the settings are not always adopted (especially the cropping of the images). Furthermore, the settings are not displayed when viewing the images in the library module in most cases. The hardware and software requirements are met.

Thanks for the additional detail.  Others experiencing problems with Sync Settings aren't seeing the crop and settings in Develop, so maybe there are two separate issues.

My approach: I develop one image. Then I synchronize the settings for example to three other images. The settings are adopted in the development module. If I look at the images in the library module, the settings (development and cropping) are gone. I see the three undeveloped images. But that doesn't always happen. Sometimes it works and sometimes not.
