Hi All! The team is investigating this. Please check if the file path for the original images includes a ( ' ), or any other special characters, and rename the folder. If the file path is, for example:

   Pictures\2025\August's Favorites\Sample Folder
Rename it to:

   Pictures\2025\Augusts Favorites\Sample Folder

Folders renamed outside of Lightroom Classic will still need to be relinked to Lightroom. You can right-click on the folder name & use Find Missing Folder, or follow the steps list

Hi all! The update to Lightroom Classic v14.5.1 is now available and includes a fix for this issue.

If you don’t see the update in your Creative Cloud app, refresh it using Ctrl/Cmd + Alt/Opt + R.

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for the update to show up.

Thanks for your patience.

I am making edits in LR Classic, then trying to open the photo to edit in PS by right-clicking, and clicking "Edit in PS 2025." Each time, the program opens up, but not the photo. This has been working flawlessly forever, but stopped working this morning. I recently updated to v26.10, and thought it might be a problem with the new version, but when I downgraded to 2569 I'm having the same problem. No error messages, and no open dialogue boxes come up, just doesn't want to open the image.

Sorry, downgraded to "25.9"

This is not a Photoshop problem, it is an issue with LR 14.5. I have
downgraded LR to 14.4 and all is well. Adobe is working on this issue. I
hope that they get it resolved soon.

Some say that it is a problem with an ' in one of your file names and that
may be correct, but I never had that issue before LR 14.5. Go
figure..........

For all those posting here, the apostrophe (') in file pathnames problem is a bug in LrC 14.5.

Although removing them by renaming solves the problem when that is the issue, I am getting the impression that there is another problem for Mac users only preventing photos being opened from LrC into Photoshop using Edit In. For those reports, the apostrophe doesn't seem to be the cause.

The apostrophe issue needs to be fixed since it is not an 'illegal' character in folder/filenames and shouldn't be causing this problem.

As for Mac users who don't have an apostrophe in the folder pathname, but still can't open photos from LrC into Ps, that is something that needs to be investigated by Adobe. I don't have a Mac to test on.

I updated Lightroom Classic and Photoshop 2025 today. I select the photo I have adjusted in Lightroom go to Photo>Edit in Photoshop 25> Edit with Lightroom Adjustments, Photoshop opens but the selected photo does not appear. Any ideas anyone? I updated to Photoshop 26.10.0 and now "Open in Adobe Photoshop 2025" doesn't work.  Photoshop opens to a home screen, but never opens the image.  "Open as a Smart Object in Photoshop" does the same thing.

I am running Windows 11 Professional.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both apps per a post from several years ago but it didn't help.

There is a known issue if the file path of the image contains a ' like in "John's Photos". Could that be your problem too?

I am trying to complete a focus stack for a macro, shooting in RAW with a Nikon D850..  I import the files into Lightroom Classic, where they show as NEF files, then select which of the photos i want to include in the stack. I then right-click the photos, select "Edit in" and select "Open as layers in Photoshop."  Photoshop opens, but I get a blank window - no photos.  When I try the same process using JPEG files, the photos all appear.  I have the same problem when I try to open a single NEF photo through "Edit in" & "Edit in Photoshop 2025."  If I open the NEF files directly from my hard drive through Ps, they load, and I can complete the focus stack, save the result back to the hard drive, then import it into LrC.  But that is a pain, and since I pay for the product, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect it to work properly!!!  How can I get the NEF files to open in Photoshop through the "Edit in" option?  I have the Creative Cloud subscription, so Photoshop (v. 26.10.0), Camera RAW (v. 17.5), and Lightroom Classic (v. 14.5) are all current.  My PC OS is Windows 11.  I have confirmed that my External Editing default is Photoshop 2025.

Opening RAW photos from my Lightroom Classic in Photoshop no longer works. It's been a few days now. Photoshop opens, but the photo doesn't. Both Lightroom Classic and Photoshop are up to date, and both show the same Camera Raw version. How can I fix this?

I can no longer open photos in Photoshop from Lightroom Classic.
When I send a photo via “Edit in Photoshop 2025,” Photoshop opens, but the photo does not load...
Other plug-ins, such as NIK, work fine...
Everything has been uninstalled and reinstalled, both LRC and PS. No result.
One of your employees has already taken over my screen, but without success.
The problem started after the latest Lightroom update.
Uninstalling and reinstalling everything seems pointless to me, because, as I said, I've already done that...
My CPU is compatible and up to date.
It's a Nividia GeForce GTX.
What now???

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

I tested your pinned response solution and it works.  Unfortunately, I have been using a folder system based on file dates for many years (e.g.:  "2025-06-11 - June Strawberry Moon").  I do have several folders for special projects that don't use any special characters and those photos open in Photoshop correctly.  I hope you can fix the special character bug quickly.

Hi everyone! Check if the file path for the original images contains a ( ' ) or other special characters and rename the folder.
I Replaced my folder name "Foto's in LR" with "Fotoos in LR."
It's now fixed for me.

Well, what I did was I uninstalled the latest version of Lightroom classic
14.5 and save the preferences. Then I reinstalled Lightroom classic 14.4
all worked the way it did before. I’m on a Mac.
