P: LRc crashing every time I attempt to open. (8496103)

Mac OS - Ventura

LRc Version - whatever the latest is 12.4??

I was editing some pictures and selected the print module, and LRc crashed.  Now it will not open.  I do notice that LRc is trying to open the print module, then crashes.   I uninstalled LRc, restarted Mac, shut down Mac, nothing seems to work.  If I could get LRc ignore its previous state, i.e. print module, I think it would open again.  Is the a way to clean/clear the previous state.  Maybe I will have to do a fresh install, not thrilled about that but maybe the only way to fix this.

Thanks for any assistance.

After some years I did a (real) clean reinstallation of MacOS and all programs (without using TimeMachine-Backups) - now both LR and PS are working fine.

I have no longer issues with the print-module nor the "exchange" between LR and PS.

Same problem here...everytime I try to open the print module LRC crashes. Macbook Pro 14, M1Pro, 2021.

To get it back to work I have to be very quick clicking on develop or library-icon when LR opens or have to re-install it.

Did a full de- and re-install of Lightroom (deleted everything (?) from LR in the Library-Folder but nothing changes. I also tried to reset the print-system and re-installed both printers (Epson P800 and Canon IX6850).

Rosetta and downgrade to 12.0 also don't work for me.

That's really annoying because this bug already appear in the past years with some OS-Versions.

Are there any news or workarounds?

Hello all,

I managed to fix this issue temporarily by manually deleting the preferences file as described in this article. Then I was able to start LrC again as it opened in the Library module. I suspect the app will immediately crash again if I try to use the Book module, so I won't try it.

Hope that helps anyone until this is properly fixed.

Thank you but downgrading to 12.0 did not change anything for me unfortunately.

I tried 12.5, did't fix problem.  Only thing I can suggest is down grade to V12.0.  I upgraded from 12.0 to 12.3 just so I could get the "denoise" feature back.  Couple of bugs in this version - cannot use import presets, crashes everytime but I can live without that.  Very frustrating for sure.  I feel your pain 😞

@Rikk Flohr: Photography is there any update on this? I need LrC regularly for my work and not being able to use it is becoming a serious problem.

@Rikk Flohr: Photography in my case even reverting to v12.0 does not help, always the same issue.

Thank you for the clarification. I will pass this along to the team for further investigation.

At this point, you would need to revert to your workaround of using version 12.0.

This entire conversation was based on my selection of the print module. When I select the print module LR crashes and when I try to open it flashes briefly the print module and closes.  I went through the suggestions provided and it still crashes LR and I then need to uninstall LR and reinstall V12.0.  I have not tried the print module with V12. 0.

When I select the print module, LR crashes and will not open again. I have
to uninstall/reinstall.
