P: Merge to HDR and Panorama doesn't work

On a regular basis, I merge 5 bracketed shots from my drone.  In the older LR, this operation took about 1 minute or less.  I could "batch" 5 operations at a time and have them all done in about 3 minutes or less.

 

With the newer, faster, more awesome (and likely soon-to-be-deprecated) LR, it simply won't do anything.  I was lucky and had one HDR to work, but I've tried countless others (one for nearly two hours) and nothing happens.  The progress bar makes no progress.

 

I'm really worried that this important feature is simply victim of a bug.

 

Anyone else having issues?  Adobe, what's up with this??

 



I'm using a medium-powered PC that has never had problems with merge before.

    @michaelr60805452  You’ve posted to a very old thread. It is highly unlikely that the issue described in this thread, though not impossible, is the same issue which you are currently experiencing. Rather than resurrect an old thread that is seemingly similar, you are better posting to a new thread with fresh, complete information including system information, a complete description of the problem and step-by-step instructions for reproduction. 

     

    In the unlikely event the issue is the same, we will merge you back into the appropriate location.

    Mine doesn't work. On a Mac. Didn't work in 2022, latest version of 2023 doesn't work either. Trying to locate the location of the settings folder, but I've gotta read through a massive amount of text in System Info to find it. 5 years seems like enough time to figure out a fix Adobe..

    I click Photo>photo merge>HDR, and nothing at all happens. I don’t even get a preview/dialogue window! New MacBook Pro with the latest version of LR.

      And you revisited your MAC system information, and checked for an additional update? This one the Supplemental update?

      Dear Satish,

      thanks for your answer. As written by me below the supplemental update did indeed solve my problem. To test it I now also removed the 'Features.disableGlobalTaskManager = true' in the config.lua. Merging the panorama also works when this option is removed.

      Can you retry photo merge operations after removing the config flag and check if your issue gets resolved?

      Hi Edgar,

      The latest supplemental update for 10.14.6 should fix the problem with photo merge operations.
      Also, you can you remove the config flag 'Features.disableGlobalTaskManager = true' and check if your issue gets resolved?

      did  you already download the 10.14.6 Supplemental Update?
      In the release notes it says:

      "• Fixes an issue that may degrade performance when working with very large files"

      it did the trick for me!
