Enthusiast ,
Feb 25, 2013 Feb 25, 2013

In 4.4 the mouse scroll wheel does not work on sliders.

You broke it.This function worked fine in 4.3. Left click on slider triangle, scroll right or left with mouse wheel.

Hi iPunk,

This bug has been fixed (on Windows - the feature was never present on Mac) since Lightroom version 4.4.

Thanks,

Doesn't work on Windows7 32 either.
OK for the Library grid
Not working for the sliders of the dev module (at least for exposure & col-temperature). When scrolling it makes the cursor jump within the Right Panel)

Click with the Wheel - not the left button. Does that work?

Lightroom Release Candidate 4.4-- Sliders in the Develop Module no longer respond to the scroll wheel on my mouse. This worked fine in LR 4.3.

No Rikk, it doesn't work for everyone.
I went through all the gyrations before trying to make it work when it was removed in 2.0. Anyway I think it was 2.0 or thereabouts. At that time you could just hover over the slider and scroll the slider. BUT, if you were hovering over the slider and hit ctrl-Z the file was reset, history deleted and in a few cases the photo was deleted.
Therefore the offender was removed until around 3.x something and the function reinstated. Now again it is gone.
I refuse to buy a Logitech mouse so I can have this function. I like my MS mouse that I have had for 12 years. My hand is shaped to fit it perfectly and Logitech are ....sssooo... alien.
As I stated t is a bug for some users, for others it is a minor hiccup

AFAIK the sliders are not supposed to work with the mouse wheel. Sometimes in the past this has happened with the Windows version, but it has now been corrected. If it is allowed to happen, it can cause other problems.

I installed LR4.4 RC. 1. My sliders are not working with my mouse wheel like they did in LR 4.X. Why? 2. There are no lens corrections for the Fujifilm X lenses, only an improved RAW converter. Why?

Bob Frost,

You seem to speak(or type) from authority on this subject. Please do tell us how you know the sliders aren't supposed to work with a mouse wheel.

I have used the wheel since the feature was returned in 3.0. That's not exactly
"sometimes". Corrected? Removal or disabling is not a correction.
And exactly WHAT problems can it cause?

I know what I had and how it worked. The bug doesn't bug me so much as your KNOW-IT-ALL attitude. Next time please have some first hand knowledge.

Sometimes one can't always quote the source of information (NDA's and all that), but one can say enough to help others understand what is going on.

Have a nice day,

Maybe their not supposed to work but they have for years and in 4.3. So why now in 4.4? Adobe error? It's even pointed out in some LR tutorial videos. Either Matt K. or Kelby's.

By the way Matt and Kelby, where are you on this issue?

Hi All,

This feature (which never did work on the Mac - it was Win-only) was removed deliberately in 4.4 for various reasons. However, we are now planning to reinstate the feature. Thanks for the feedback.

Benjamin Warde is a man of his word.
Sliders work with the scroll wheel again in 4.4 final.
Thank you for listening to my whining and snivelling.

LR 5 was released June 2013 and we are still waiting!
God forbid if I ask to speed up development and feature implementations, err, excuse me, revoking features that have vanished for NO reason 😕

Agree!
I feel harassed by the arbitrariness of Adobe - across all Professional Applications.

More customer oriented thinking please. I already abandoned Apple for exactly that reason.

Stop bugging us!

I am missing slider control via mousewheel.

I don't want to lose focus on my image and not watching at my sliders whenever adjusting parameters.

Mousewheel support is mandatory!!

Hi Ben,

sorry, but what shall I do with this answer?
I was asking for Mousewheel support for LR Mac OS, nothing less, nothing more.
I think that's not so hard to understand. Isn't it?

iPunk, are you saying that this feature previously worked on Mac OS? Your other post suggests it did ("Want this back ASAP"), however Ben says that it never worked on Mac and I've never seen it. Or are you saying you'd like this Windows feature on the Mac OS version?

As a Mac alternative, you could try floating the mouse over the slider and using the up/down keys on your keyboard to move the slider. That works in a similar way, and I use a separate dial device (a Contour Shuttle Pro) programmed to those key strokes to move the sliders, rather than a mouse wheel.
