Greetings all,

Updates for Adobe Photography products have been released.  The February 2023  updates contain a fix for this issue.

If you do not see the update in your Creative Cloud Application, you can refresh it by hitting [Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+[ R ].

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your update to be available in your Creative Cloud app.

Thank you for your patience.

I had the same problem with 11.2

As the publishing had problems as well I went back to 11.1, no problem since.

I'm waiting for 11.3 now

Perhaps I'm stating the obvious, but you can only add a photo to a collection once. So if you drop a few photos onto a collection that already contains those photos, then the count does not update.

And another obvious one that one may still overlook: you cannot manually add photos to a smart collection.

Also, as a reminder, you cannot add photos directly to a Collection Set.

You can only successfully add photos to a Collection, e.g. to one that's inside the Set.

Generally speaking this right pointing triangular arrow denotes a collapsed grouping, such as, the top level container of a collection set. Clicking on that arrow expands the grouping. After doing this, the triangular arrow turns to point downward and the contents of the Set are shown (indented) below.

I am not able to replicate what you are seeing. The count increases as soon as I drop the new photos into the collection.

Do you see the issue after:

  1.  A restart of Lightroom?
  2.  A restart of your computer?
  3.  A Preference file reset?

This procedure works for both Lightroom Classic and Lightroom Desktop.

If you are using Lightroom Desktop it can change the location of your local storage. Please review this setting after resetting preferences.

Reset Procedure:

1. Close Lightroom.

2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.

3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.

4. Close Lightroom.

5. Restart Lightroom.
