I have down loaded three  of my favorite songs from I tunes.  One I was able to upload one into music section in LR slideshow module.   This is the message I got.  I downloaded three versions of "over the rainbow" and get the same message with each version of this same song.  Help!!!!

Hi kathyh25685939,

I see that the song name has an extension(iTunes) .M4p which is unsupported by Lightroom. .M4p files are protected files.

Are you able to add any other audio format? You may refer the solution mentioned in this article "The Music File Is Not Well Formed" and let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Akash

You'll need to use something like an .mp3.

You can convert your track to mp3 and then use it in Lightroom.

There unfortunately is no (legal) way to convert a protected file to anything that Lightroom can read. iTunes gives you protected files if you have a subscription to it. The only way to get an unprotected file is outright buying the song on iTunes (instead of downloading using a subscription) so you get an unprotected download. You can also buy it on amazon and many other online music services that allow you to buy the music. Last option is to rip it directly from a CD of course.
