Hello Adobe Community,
I'm experiencing a frustrating issue with Adobe Lightroom Classic on my new laptop. After about 1.5 minutes of working in the program, Lightroom suddenly freezes completely. If I wait around 1.5 minutes, the program starts working again as normal, but the freezing continues to happen intermittently.
Here’s a summary of my setup and the troubleshooting steps I’ve already taken:
Despite all of this, the freezing issue persists, making it very difficult to work on my projects.
Has anyone else experienced this, or does anyone have suggestions on how to resolve this issue? I would appreciate any guidance or additional troubleshooting steps.
Thank you in advance!

Show us the specs for your computer: go to Help->System Info and copy the info there (down to the plug-in information, we don't want and don't use and absolutely hate everything below the plug-in info) and paste it as text into your reply.
Are there specific actions that you peform in LrC when the program freezes? Or does just about anything cause the freeze?
Also, did you do a "clean install"? https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/lightroom-classic-13-0-unstable/m-p/141...
Make sure you have turned off the Face Recognition, turned off synchronizing with the cloud and Address Lookup. If you never use these features, please double-check and triple-check that they are off, as they may have been turned on accidentally.

Is the driver for your GPU the studio driver, not the game driver?
Is your CPU or GPU over-clocked or under-clocked?

Try turning off the under-clocking. Go to the NVidia web site and confirm you are using a Studio driver.

so from a Lenovo Web Page:
and from that, the CPU could be a 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-13900HX?
As it may be a 13th Gen Intel CPU, do you ever get "Out of Video memory" errror messages?

I have the same problem with LR freezing:
New laptop Velocity Micro 17" 4K
All drivers are up to date
Lightroom v14.0.1
Windows 11 Pro
GPU Nvidia Getforce RTX 4090 laptop
CPU Intel Core i9-14900HX; integrated UHD Graphics
64GB memory
etc, etc...
I have determined the Nvidia GPU is the culprit.
If I turn Nvidia off I don't have a problem with LR (except it's slow)
When Nvidia is on (share or Intel GPU off) LR freezes.

Can you share a screenshot of your LrC /Preferences/Performance
with the GPU option on.
