Please give us much more details:

- Which restart button and what changes?
- Your OS?

- Your exact version (numbers, not 'latest' or alike) of LR

I am not aware of the presence of any button in Lightroom named "Restart". Please be much more specific about where this button should be, show us screen captures of where you think it was.

The OP is probably referring to the Restart Lightroom button in the bottom left corner of the preferences dialog.

I think it was introduced in LR Classic, or maybe a little earlier.

Ron - unless the missing button is creating other problems, click OK and restart Lightroom manually.

Sometimes glitches like this can be fixed by a Lightroom restart, or computer restart.

Correct. Every version since, and including, LR5 (on the Windows platform) has had a "Restart Lightroom" button at the bottom-left corner of all of the tabs in the Preferences dialog.

Windows only, it's never been in the Mac version. I did ask about that once, but didn't get a satisfactory reply.

Here is more detail.  I am using Lightroom 5 on a PC with Windows 10.  I have a problem changing my Lightroom font size.  I click on Edit, Preferences, Interface. Then I click on Large 150%.  When I try to click on the “Restart” button in the lower left hand corner,  It is not there.  The window is too large and the restart button is hidden below the line of sight.  I can not grab a corner and resize the window to make the “Restart” button show.  The OK button is also below the line of sight, so I cant hit OK and restart manually.

adjust the OS screen resolution to the native setting for your monitor. It sounds like you have adjust that and now when you make the LR interface 150% it is pushing part of that window off the screen.
